Lorenzo Galli Wine Scholarship
Applications are open for entry to the 2011 Lorenzo Galli Wine Scholarship program comprising an intensive two-day masterclass featuring the finest wines made in Italy plus Italian varietals. Now in it's third year, "L'Erudito" ("The Learned") has become Australia's most significant Italian wine program and one of the leding educational wine tutorials. Patron of the program Pamela Galli, conceived the scholarship to honour her late husband; businessman, wine lover and winery owner, Lorenzo Galli. The application process begins with a short, simple essay. Successful scholars then attend a masterclass, held in Melbourne on January 18 & 19, 2011, facilitated by Italian wine importer, Michael Trembath, wine writer Jane Faulkner and wine consultant Dan Sims. The dux wins a $10,000 trip to Italy.
Applicants must register by close of business 28 August 28, 2010 via winescholarship.com.au. You must be a permanent resident of Australia working in the wine and hospitality industry or similar field. Previous scholars have included students, sommeliers, winemakers, retailers, food and wine consultants, distributors and marketers.
