Kris is our new Pinot Grigio from leading Alto Adige producer, Franz Haas. The wine is IGT Delle Venezie, the historical term for the three regions of the Veneto, encompassing Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the Veneto.
The labels for the Kris range were sketched by the Haas’ family friend, the late Riccardo Schweizer. Each of the inspiring and playful labels conveys Kris’ expressive style and portrays the blending of art and science in the winemaking process. The gold orb depicts the role of the Italian sun in ripening the grapes, the hand represents the role of the human hand in cultivating the grapes and crafting the wine and the kiss represents the role of the lips that ultimately savour the wine.
It is on the blending bench that art meets science as Franz combines his artistic intuition and technical ability to craft expressive wines that are full of varietal and regional character with value for money in mind. The wine has aromas of acacia flowers, citrus and almonds, the palate lean and refreshing with notes of blossom and honey.
