Mandarino & Limone
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and one of the richest regions in terms of history and art, a place where many great ancient civilizations crossed paths. Sicily includes the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands in the north and the island of Pantelleria in the south which is actually closer to northern Africa than it is Sicily.
Erroneously referred to as one big wine region, there is incredible diversity across Sicily, from Vittoria in the south to Marsala in the west and Mount Etna in the north east. Some of the key grapes include Frappato, Nerello Mascalese and Nero d’Avola for reds and Carricante, Grillo, Catarratto for whites. Plus, Sicily is home to some of Italy’s best dessert wines in Malvasia from Lipari and Zibibbo from Pantelleria.
