CAMPANIA

Greco, Fiano, Falanghina, Aglianico & Piedirosso

Its difficult to summarise the influence and importance of wines from Campania when you can trace its viticultural history to 121 BC! The three key whites are Fiano (especially from Avellino), Greco di Tufo and Falanghina plus there is Coda di Volpe, Caprettone and Biancolella just to name a few. In reds, the ageworthy Taurasi, made from Aglianico, is praised as one of Italy’s best and if you’re looking for a red with pizza Napoletana then Piedirosso is the perfect choice, especially the beautifully named Lacyrma Christi (tears of Christ) from the slopes of Vesuvius.
