Carlo’s father Donato was one of the founding growers of Produttori del Barbaresco in 1958. In the late 1960’s carlo and Donato left the Produttori and went out on their own, releasing their first vintage of Barbaresco in 1967.

Carlo has been nurturing the fourth generation, grandson Luca, into the role of winemaker over the last few years and is helped by Dante Scaglione who was instrumental in the wines of (no relation) Bruna Giacosa.

The four Barbaresco wines are made the same way: spontaneous fermentation, long macerations of between 45 – 60 days and ageing in large oak casks.
